Enhancing Compassionate Competency in Mental Health Agencies

After working in several mental health agencies it became apparent that despite best intentions, agencies often struggle to provide holistic support to their staff and the people they serve.
The effect of this struggle leads to burn-out, compassion fatigue, termination of employment, iatrogenic and vicarious trauma and mental health crises.
Before offering solutions, I want to first understand the historical nature of the agency and its functioning. From there I am able to support agencies through individual and group discussion, implementation of evidenced based practices to combat vicarious trauma and compassion fatigue, and trauma informed systemic interventions that depathologize the human experience.
